Just finished the boil ans my Sg finished 1040 instead of 1045 , What shoulld I do..

Any helps appreciated.

If it was me I'd just add the yeast once at pitching temp and ferment as usual.

A bit less alc % but not the end of the world

I didn't know weather to boil longer , continue as you said Cliffo or add some Extract..


Just chilled and left it in the ens../

Did you adjust the reading for temp?
Your Hydrometer is only correct if the sample is at 20C
A reading of 1.040 @ 35C would actually be 1.045.
You have probably covered your three options, boil longer, add extract or just ferment as is, if your reading is actually correct.

Nige you are right I hadn't adjusted for temp... Lucky I left it !

I'd accept that. It will make very little difference to the end product.

Obviously you are ok now but 5 points ain't much anyway.
