who use what and prefers what for you mash tun/lauter

weather a manifold or phalse bottom or the termi mesh or bazooka method

and why u like and or any problems with you method

working out what to do whwn i get a rubbermaid

We use the false bottom.

Its easily cleaned and has better flow rates.

If only doing a partial mash it doesnt matter so much but up to 50L through the manifold without getting stuck.

Plus it is alot easier to drill holes in a plate than a tube

I use a manifold in my esky conversion as shown below.
The manifold is installed with the holes on the bottom.

I actually put a mesh bag over the manifold too.

Doc,

what sort of pipe are you using there (Iassume it's plastic - what kind?). Also what size is it? How have you attached the copper sleeves to the joints?

Cheers - Snow

It is the pipe plumbers are now using for hot water. Not sure on the diameter.
The fittings are the compression fittings plumbers are using to join the piping. The connection fitting slip into the pipe then you use a special tool that compresses the copper ring and creates the join.

(My father in-law is a plumber).
