I made a ~4L yeast starter for my larger that I had planed on making tonight. Last night i chucked in my fermentation fridge to cold crash it. I usually use a temperature controller with the fridge, how ever since I was just cold crashing it, I did not bother. It seems the fridges temp was set pretty low and the starter partially froze over night. There is about a 1 cm layer of ice on the inside of the 5L carboy and the rest of the liquid is a slight icy slurry.
I am worried the yeast in the ice will be either dead or so severely stressed that they are not worth using anyway.
Do you think I should cancel my brew tonight and just start again? Or won't it mater.
