so has anyone bought the ozito portable cylinder and reg from bunnings and modded it to suit a keg set up yet?
i'm very interested so i can go portable for fishin trips and parties.
is there any other type of cheap mini reg out there in beer land that'll do the job?
if so, pics would be greatly appreciated.

These available through anyone that stocks CO2 Bottles supplied by MyKegOnLegs are the same bottle as the Ozeto bottles, available with an Australian Standard thread and a On/Off Valve well worth having a look at. Has the screw in pin valve models (like Sodastream) to.

Sounds interesting, how much was it? I'm assuming bunnings do a swap system? How much was the mini-reg and what did it look like?

I picked up one of the cylinder from Bunnings a while ago for $15... they only charged me the refill price :D

It works well with a sodastream adaptor and a normal regulator.

Or go to a home brew shop that sell MKOL and buy one that all ready fits your reg and comes with an on/off valve.

even though i know this will annoy some people, i dont care...

if anyone wants more info on the ozito gas bottles, you could always look at the other ozito gas bottle threads. here's a link to the search results

Interesting thread, I rang Bunning's yesterday, to confirm something I suspected -they tell me the Ozito bottle has been discontinued, locally they don't even have refills any more.
Most retailers sell the MKOL 540 g bottle for around $100 no adaptor required; from memory Bunning's was $75-80, around another $40 for the adaptor.
I can't speak for others but we charge $8 for a refill, swap & go Bunning's was $15 again from memory.
Us rip-off bastard home brew shop owners are offering what I believe is a better bottle, at a better price and charging less for the gas than the big green shed was.
You can even get the bottle refilled good luck with your Ozito bottles, it might be a good idea to take your adaptor along with you, because I certainly aren't set up to fill anything other than bottles with Au. Std. Type 30 fittings.

I was more interesting in the mini-regs to be honest.

And it'd sort of be nice to be able to discuss something, even if it ends up being expensive and no longer available, without having local home brew store politics and the associated BS coming into it.

i have searched and no one has as yet posted success and i don't see any problem with asking (this is why we have a forum community.
otherwise we would just have a big faq page, no one would talk to each other and the beer world we be a very lonely place)
bottom line is you don't need to post replies to every thread if it isn't relevant to yourself or helpful to the person posting it).
no pun intended :icon_cheers:

i here where your coming from and wish i had access to these bottles where you can get them refilled, but up here there isn't a lot of choice (nth qld)and
every thing here attracts a premium price for gas equiptment most brewers here have to use boc for gas which costs around 220 bucks a year. bunnings were looking like a solution at the moment. i only want to use this as a backup gas source when my big bottle runs dry or i go on a fishing trip.

I agree they were ideal and it's a shame they aren't available, the adaptor was developed for Sodastream bottles for exactly the purpose of getting portability and that option is still available if anyone local to you stocks Sodastream.

Just ***** me that well my local woollies now wants $14.95 to exchange 330g of CO2 so they are charging dam near $45/Kg, Bunning's was a bit better at only $30/Kg and if it upsets Mark^Bastards delicate constitution; tough that so often retailers here get slaged out even when they are only trying to be helpful, and while offering the same service at about half the price of a national retailer. Guess there's no pleasing some people.
