I just put Pale Ale down and I think that I have over hopped it. I used as follows
Coopers Aust Pale Ale
Coopers BE2 1kg
LDME 500g ( 300g boiled in 3lt )
I boiled 25g of Willamette hops(pellets) for 15mins with above LDME
I then dry hopped 25g of Citra at end.
US-05 yeast
23 litres

Have I put in too much ( due to lack of knowledge )????
Put down on Saturday, smells real hoppy through air lock

Yeah it sounds okay.

Okay, is mine under hopped?

1 can Coopers APA
1kg LDME
500gm dextrose

all in 30 minute 7 litre boil with 20gm of Amarillo 9.3%

made up to 23ltr.

SA04 at 19.5C

Still in primary after 8 days

I have Amarillo, Hallertauer and POR pellets available.

Yes, but that is personal opinion, rather than brewing fact. Honestly, it's up to you what's over or under hopped - it depends on your taste and what style of beer you're trying to produce.

Depends on what you are making

APA needs shit loads of hops
JSGA doesn't
Lager you want bugger all

So both can be correct, both could be wrong to style.

mickos: 25g of Willamette @ 15min and 25g Citra is a lot more than I would use for the malt base you have. But I think it will still be drinkable.

toadskin: Not sure of what you want from the beer. With 1kg LDME and 20g Amarillo I think it would be great. But I would not have boiled the Amarillo for 30mins, 10 min max for me. Unless you are going to dry hop some more.

It all comes down to what beer are you making and what do you want from it.

thanks all, its more hops than I have used before and was starting to stress a little about qty.

I'm trying to achieve a fruity pale ale, with a malty hint. A nice summer drinker.

Something like JS 150 lashes would be nice.
