New or Refurbished Kegs?

G'day,

I'm looking at corny kegs, it seems the best I can find in Brisbane for Refurbished is $100, and new ones are $115-130.

Is it worth going refurbished when it's not much more for new?

Is there a quality issue with new ones? If I went new is there anything I should be looking out for?

Does anyone have a source for Refurbished 19L cornys in Brisbane for around $80?

G’day Bdogg, my opinion for what its worth! The new Chinese kegs I’ve seen have been crap, dud welding and signs of rust iwo the welds on the inside from poor penetration! New Italian kegs are great but expensive $150ea I bought a couple during the last great corny keg drought of 2014. Second hand Corny kegs from the USofA for $80 are a good buy but can have faults pin holes etc plus you may be up for a few parts PRV, lids, o-rings etc. keep an eye on gumtree fb etc someone selling 4 should take $60EA….

You could take scomet's advice or give the Junior a go. cheap for a new keg.
