Quite a few brewers suggest cooling the wort quickly after the boil.
So I decided to have a go at making my own wort chiller.
I had 3 rolls of 1/2'' copper pipe that I bought at Bunnings a few months ago for $50 each.
After watching a video on YouTube, I thought anyone could do it.
So, I got one of the rolls and started to wind it around a Corny. Thinking it was only a 6 metre length, I kept coiling the whole lot. After I finished, I put the coil into my boiler, a 20 litre urn. Fitted nicely around the element. Just a little too high. I then read the label on the packaging of the copper pipe and noticed that it was an 18 metre length. Oh well, should fit a bigger boiler if I ever get adventurous.
Just for info 'cause I'm proud of my handywork
Cheers
