hence the phrase "counter flow" wort goes 1 way, water the other.
they look the ducks nuts but i just use a coil of copper as an immersion chiller.
 
Polyaire (aircon company) has 15 metre 3/8inch copper Annealed tubing for $48.
that's the ticket
 
Just wondering how hard it is to clean (or keep clean) something like this?

Also, do you only need to run the wort through once?

The CFC chiller? I dunno as i've never used it. Buy it off me and find out ;)

Fingerlickin_B, I used one for years with no probs. I ran 95 degrees water through it before the wort and then more 95 degrees water through it afterwards to clean it, let it air dry then plugged the ends. Only ran the wort through it once, best to use a pre chiller for your water to increase the temp gradient :D
