Just watched Things to Come - Alexander Korda - from the 1930s - they got a hell of a lot right, despite the fact that a lot of their predictions were fantasy at the time: Second World War and the blitz, Westfield Shoppingtowns  , big screen tv, helicopters, huge transport aircraft, nuclear fusion "we make our own sunshine underground", and space gun - yes NASA are currently developing a rail gun to get things into low orbit.
Fashion predictions were woeful however. :p

havent seen it. must look into it.

are you referring to fussion or fission? we only use fission as power source. fussion is uncontrollable (at this time) and really only occurs in weapons testing and some expierimental labs. its not a viable power source (yet). cold fussion is the holy grain of power.

I think one of the newspapers ran a 'where is my personal jetpack/flying car' story a while ago where they went through old movies to see what they had got right and what they had got wrong.
