Lion Nathan's offer for Coopers Brewery Limited
Sydney, 17 March 2006:
The period for shareholders of Coopers Brewery Limited to submit a notice advising that they wish to accept the Offer by Lion Nathan Limited to purchase all of the shares in Coopers closes on Monday, 20 March 2006. Lion Nathan has decided not to extend this period or the Offer. Accordingly the Offer is due to close on Monday 29 May 2006.
The decision not to extend the Offer period does not preclude a further offer by Lion Nathan to purchase all or some of the shares in Coopers at some point in the future, and does not affect the status of the legal proceedings currently being pursued by Lion Nathan against Coopers. Some of the remedies sought by Lion Nathan in those proceedings, if granted by the courts, may result in Lion Nathan becoming a shareholder in Coopers.
