Bulk buys go really well when everybody pays attention and pays on time, for the majority of this buy its great, its a real PITA to try and organise late orders as there is a lot of emails and phone calls to make sure it will be included.

No worries guys just wont to get GG the money as fast as possible, their is a fair lee way in the bulk buy with John ordering the malt before it is paid for. I dont know too many retailers that would offer that kind of service.

The quicker i get the payment the quicker i get rid of the money and GG get paid.

Quick question for those who've purchased bulk grain before, rough what size (ltrs) would a container need to be to store a sack of grain (25kg)???

A 25kg bag of grain would take around a 50-60L container possibly a little larger. I get half bags into a 20L bucket with lid Just.

Does that mean we have access to the grain at this time Kleiny? Also, Two & 1/2 weeks ago i got my 20L handypail filled at Greensy and it fit 13KG of JW pilsner exactly.

600-650g per/L is usually what i get with barley. You get abit more with wheat and rye due to the smaller grain size and lack of husk.

I have a 60L willow black bin from bunnings for less than 20 bucks which i use for my base malt. You can squeeze 1 bag of grain in there still in the sack. Empty it out and i recon you would get close to 1 1/2 bags worth to the top.

Ive got to get myself 1kg of carafa special II while im at GG too. Can't forget!

Well the lid 'clips' down, some better than others so road test them before you buy. As long as the mousey is incapable of a textbook swandive if oyu leave the lid open or has the strength to pop the lid off i'd say you are safe. Although something that screws closed and is airtight would be ideal but for the price its a pretty good substitute. I'd prefer to use these than the stackable underbed jobs you get from the reject shop, i believe the bins are HDPE so the chance of this bin cracking is slim.
