For those of you using a march pump, are you running ball valves on the inlet & outlet or just the outlet?

Cheers.

i'd imagine you use the ball valve at the kettle out to control the flow

Flow control should be done on the pressure side of a pump rather than the suction side.

So a ball valve directly on pump discharge side will do the trick

I have em on both sides, that way I can use it to route from HLT to MLT or Keggle, MLT to MLT and Keggle etc..

Thanks guys,
I think I'll just put one on the discharge side & see how that goes.

Cheers

how important is this ?

A: Very

The restriction should always be on the delivery side of a pump. Helps maintain prime, stop pump from running dry, helps to stop pump from overheating.

One of the big issues is a march pump running dry you will be up for a new one very soon if you restrict the inlet side as the pump has to work harder.
