Guys,

We are looking for bands / entertainers for our bar / restaurant in Monbulk.

Ideally must be free / cheap / have a small following of their own ideally. Just looking to boost the atmosphere of the place a little and get a crowd going on Friday evenings.

We have a dedicated stage area, seat about 80+, So if you know any bands (or their followers) that like hand pumped English ales, send them my way please.

Please pm if you know anyone who may be interested.

Thanks

Andy

Bands have a hard enough time without being expected to play for free.

Sure- many starters will just for the gig time but if you want professionally minded people (read - turn up on time with the right gear) then consider offering a minimum small retainer and rider. Encourage them to promote but don't be shy promoting as well.

My first post probably came across a bit wrong

Happy to pay for bands with a small following who do some of their own promoting, also happy to promote. We just don't want to be shelling out $$$$ on the unknown. Its easy for us to line up the bigger / more popular bands from the area but would like to try and get some more smaller local bands / performers in if possible. Try and mix it up a bit and hopefully give a little back to some of these people looking for a venue. We are just finding it hard at the moment trying to put together an entertainment schedule so we can promote it well enough in advance.

what genre you after.
We have had some success with rock covers / slight blues type twist band so far, we have an open mic session on Sundays and we get a range of styles there

Makes sense andy.
I would suggest just offering a base level that is fair. You'll soon sort out those with the right attitude and reputations go a long way, including yours as fair management.
Best of luck.
