No one else has already started the topic, so here we go.

Australia Day long weekend. And what could be more Australian than brewing up a great batch of beer !!

So what are you brewing ?

Personally, I've just weighed out the grain for a California Common. Haven't brewed one in years, and I might just change the name to an Australian Common.

Beers,
Doc

PS: Anyone becoming a citizen this weekend ?

PPS: I'm not.

Come on Doc, why not? Dual it up.

I am going to try and do another 100% Wheat, but I am working all weekend :( .

WCB Club Brewday (200L, 4 x 50L Batches )

The four horsemen of the apocalypse (Belgianstrong Ales)

Pale - Golden Strong or Tripel
White - Blonde Ale
Black - Dark Strong Ale
Red - Dubbel

I'm doing two brews; 50L of maibock for the 2008 Mash paddle, and 50L of Kolsch for an upcoming special occasion in March. Just building my new Fridgemate for the second fermenter fridge in front of the PC now. Someone warned me this hooby was bad for collecting fridges. Ahh well....

No brewing as such this weekend... Actually trying to consume some of the stock for when I actually get the shed to brew in (FINALLY!!! A DEDICATED BREWING AREA!!!!!!!!)

No actual brewing but bottling a Bavarian Lager which has been lagering for last 5 weeks, will have to taste a few while doing it as well...

Otherwise making yoghurt, sourdough and cold brewed ice coffee :)

I think that now I have my keg setup operating, I'm going to make a House Ale v1.0, maybe something like

20L Batch

95% Pale
5% Caramalt

Single infusion at 65.

50g B Saaz FWH as only addition

US-05 at 18C

I'll be pouring myself a pint early as I won't need to remember any hop additions after sparging!

Brewing a stout right now.

Also will be making a wheatie tomorrow or Sunday.

cheers

Not me brewing, but the missus is making her very first AG tomorrow, a wheat to go in her very own keg/tap........I can't decide whether I'm comfortable with this or not.......

I guess you will know in a few weeks when the beer is on tap, at which point you can resume your place as the house brewer or retire in favour of the master...

Aussie ale of course!

6.5% ABV
25 IBU

50% galaxy

sorry, couldnt help myself.

An IPA is being planned for monday.

Not wholly Aussie, but an Aussie will be making it... :p

PS Would have loved to join the WCB for Oz Day, but sadly too much going on here.

Made this exact beer for Christmas hopped to about 23IBUs, only used S33. It is a crowd pleaser.

Someone warned me this hooby was bad for collecting fridges. Ahh well....

I have 3 fridges and 2 chest freezers running here.......... only one fridge is for non beer use! I do eye off the botton shelf for CC'ing small batches of bock :p

Wow that unconventional.......... the famous aroma hop for bittering and the 15.4 %AA low cohumulone hop for aroma!

Should work well though.... sothern cross is a fantastic hop but i would swap them. But who am i kidding....... im in love with unconventional brewing.......... let us know how it turnes out Kai. Id like to know how SC goes as a late hop on its own.

Im sure its great....... it sure smells great, and very strong. Makes my fingers sticky when i rub the flowers.

like i said great hop.

As for the weekend brewing............. Im fishing tomorrow, family day on sunday and posible brewing on monday.

If i do, it will be an Aussie ale for sure........... Aussie Ale malt, POR all the way!

cheers

I guess it is a little unconventional, especially since the POR addition is staying in the HBS's fridge. Southern Cross has a good aroma though and I have plenty of Goldings plugs lying around, so...

APA... Unpatriotic yes. Bad me. :D

Can't brew on the weekend as I'm playing cricket today and working Sun-Tue. But then I plan on doing 2 batches Wed-Fri. Might start off with a wheat beer of sorts. Then follow it up with my Sparkling Ale
