Lion Nathan bought Boags from San Miguel, in which Kirin Holdings is a shareholder. Kirin Holdings also have a noticeable shareholding in Lion Nathan.

When I start my hugely successful independent brewery, I'm going to make sure there's a clause in its constitution that says, "Shares may not be assimilated into the borg", with appropriate definitions of "assimilated" and "borg". Kind of like Coopers, but more specific and attributable to a post on a home brew forum.
