Yes, I bought one for making jerky, tried it out on 4kg of round. It seemed to struggle a bit but got the job done and the jerky ended up nice and thin. I know nothing about meat slicers but it seems to rev slow with a lot of torque.

No, but I've bought a couple of Kogan - distributed products lately ( Smart TV quad core dongle and blood pressure monitor) and they are pretty good performers for the price. Kogan had a bad rep about 8 years ago when he started up, but seems to have got the business model together and the business seems to be trustworthy.
