Kit twang at local HBS in their demo recipe

Not sure, maybe for the same reason it tastes different in general? If I can corner him I'll ask.

So it seems to me there are several possible causes of kit twang from my research.

• Incorrect fermentation temperature
• Chlorine in water
• Use of hop extract in kits
• Out of date/Old wort
