Hi all,

purchased a keg king 16amp Auto Switching thermostat this week and hooked it up yesterday.

i put it at a set point of 13 for a lager yeast, it doesnt kick on until the temperature has reached 2 degrees either side of it. so i heats up once it hits 11 degrees, cools at 15.

is that ok, i couldnt figure from the instructions how to make it a one degree difference before turning heating, cooling on.

heres a link to the box. i have the wired up one. http://www.kegking.com.au/Temperature%20Controllers%20and%20Measurement%20Devices.html

You need to adjust the hystersis setting, I think they usually are set to 2c each side of the set temp. You can change this by holding down the set key until the unit enters the parameter menu, then scroll to the hystersis menu (E2 or E3 I think but check your manual)by pessing the menu key then press the down key to change the hystersis down to whatever you require. Press menu key again to set it and then just wait until the unit goes back to the normal temp display.

It should only be 1 from factory?

Check E3 is set to 1, by the sounds it is currently 2

To make changes to the default function settings:
a) Hold down SET key until E1 appears (approx 5 seconds) on the display.
b) Keep pressing the SET key until you get to the function that you are wanting to change (ie E1, E2, E3D)Press the up or down key to alter the particular function setting.
c) Once you finish just changing the function settings you can either press SET key again to change other function settings or just leave the controller for 5 seconds and it will return back to the home screen.

thanks! loving this forum, can only make my beer better :)

I looked at getting this thermostat as well, is it a simple plug-in and away you go or do you need to wire it in?

....as long as you RTFM....

Sorry, I'm in "Bastard-mode" atm...'Promise I'll get better - I rubbed cream on it today

I've got one of these, plug and play easy as.
Just definitely read the instructions as others have said and don't lose them!

+1 I have 2 a 10 amp 1 for my keezer and a 16 amp 1 for my fermenting fridge ( keeps the ferment temp within .3 C).

If you lose the instructions you can download another set off the Keg King website.

Cheers,

Andrew.
