I would leave it for 1 week myself, any longer and you might get grassy flavours.

Yeap 5 or 6 days max unless you want a grass salad beer! take a gravity reading and use your palate, you'll know

Depends a lot on the hop too. I've had no issues with around a week using EKG, Target, amarillo and fresh chinook. Saaz has given me grass (wouldn't dry hop with it again - it was a beer that seemed particularly bland at the time) and tett which I love came out all wrong the one time I tried it. It was completely the wrong beer to try it in though so that one I might have another crack at.

i recently used 20g of centennial for 7 days in secondary in an apa and had no grassy flavours and some great floral/citrusy aroma, would definitely recommend the hop
