Can anyone remember how much liquid malt I need to make a 1 Ltr starter with an SG of 1040
 
i normal use about 80 -100gms per litre .. think that equates to roughly 1030 - 1040

I think its about 100g per litre for dry malt - if using liquid, you will need about 20% more (most liquid malt is 80% solids)
 
100 gr per 1 litre should give roughly 1.040.
I'd use a little less to allow for some boil off voume of your wort prior to cooling.
