well my aussie pale has morphed into an ordinary bitter but lets pretend its a sparkling .. how many volumes? 2.8? 2.1? None of the above?

What is the OG/FG?
Wouldn't the amount of residual body affect how you want to carb it?

Any of my ordinary bitters, I wouldn't want them carbed near a pale. I tried a bottle last night of one that I overcarbed, have to spend 5 mins swirling it to get it to taste/feel right.

well ... i am sad to say, i've never had a so called sparkling go below 1.010! i don't know how one is expected to get 1.005!

Anyway, answer the question silly bint!, 1.048 - 1.010. So higher ABV than an ordinary.

I don't think it really needs to be that highly carbonated, maybe just a bit above the real high end of carbonation for bitter. Around 2.4, 6g/L or 25psi I would be happy with, wouldn't go any higher myself.

Agree with jayse there. 2.4 is my general fallback amount for non-English. Bubbly, but not overly so. A nice middle ground.

Well its all done! 2.4 volumes .. more or less.
