How long is grain good for?

So I've had a fair spell from brewing and think I might crank up the urn again. Was wondering what is the longest people have had a sack of grains sitting around and still made a good brew with it.

Depends how you store it. Like always heat oxygen moisture and light are the main offenders.

Take some grains and chew them. If they are crisp, you're good to go. If they're not and feel slack, I'd give it a miss and compost it or feed it to the chooks.
