Just wondering what the benefit from pellets or flowers. Is there a cirtain use for each?

Pellets are more efficient than flowers. You need about 10% more flowers to get the same bitterness as pellets.

Flowers give better flavour and aroma. How much better depends on the type of hop.

I helped a mate out once who used some flowers instead of pellets. Seriously clogged up his gear, but that probably isn't much of an issue for kits.
