Thinking of putting a beer together and before i start i thought i would run it by you guys
1.5kg Muntons Blonde
1.5kg LLME
500-600g Yellow Box Honey (added after the boil)
100g Cracked Wheat
100g Crystal
20g Cascade (40min)
12g Cascade (10min)

A couple of questions what would be the best way to prepare the cracked wheat
and should i just steep the crystal and add both at the end of the boil..
and do you think that it would be to bitter....

Cheers Tim

The cracked wheat is it malted or unmalted?

Steep the crystal for 30min in around 60C water and strain into the boil if you have room

I dont think it will be bitter at all depending on the AA% of the Cascade hops

1 Other concern is that the honey being yellow box may give you some different flavours, which some people on AHB dont like, if you can find clover honey or honey from a fruit orchard it provides a better honey flavour.

yellow box is fine to brew with just be aware that it takes a fair while to age out and become drinkable like 6 months. where as clover is best at about 2

The AA of the hops is 5.6%
and the Wheat is unmalted...just cracked i was thinking of adding it in the brew to get better head retention..
