Well they cant be very clever. I just saw a question on this show on Channel 9.

The question was. If you needed to make a beer very quickly, like in 3 minutes could you add your wort to...

a microwave
a coffee machine
a washing machine.

The answer, so they say is a washing machine...and the result was a clear, straw lager with a head.....

The head scientist guy says "beer needs constant tempreture and constant motion to be made"

How the hell can they put that crap on TV...I mean what the hell its totaly wrong.

Umm make beer in 3 minutes? i may have to buy another washing machine!

It really was set up to ensure that the answers would be wrong. It was heavily implied that should you run out of beer, you could somehow make some from scratch and have it ready to drink by the end of an ad' break.
Even the one bloke who had done some brewing ("needs to sit at 26-28C") figured that making it hotter would make it go faster. They had indicated that the ingredients including the yeast were mixed to put into whatever machine you were trying.
Total BS... people will be calling their LHBS today, trying to find out how to make beer in three minutes.

sounds like another properganda ploy from LION NATHAN to me maybe there wave of thinking is "get them would be brewers to try this and it won't work so they will give up and just drink our crap instead"

was the show called RIPLEY BELIVE IT OR NOT? :D

I saw this and had a laugh. It's all a bit of fun and some truth in there too of course.

They didn't promise anything about the quality or flavour :p

My wife was surprised when I picked the washing machine.
