Hi all

Quick and hopefully easy one.

I am changing my brewery up lots. Basically a total overhaul.

I'm moving from 4x2200w elements to 2x5757w elements (HLT and Kettle). Thus i need to close the one extra hole for each. It's from one of these elements, https://cheekypeakbrewery.com.au/2200w-stainless-steel-element-only/. The hole is about 34.8mm. Ideally i'd turn it into a site glass, but not sure how to seal it. Any suggestions?

Cheers

You could put a weldless bulkhead in, another option is to weld triclamp ferrules on or use a nut and bolt to seal

Hrm, i think i'll have to make it a bit bigger, to 2" and then use a 2" bulkhead. They appear very $$ though

This should do the job, you'll just need a 30mm nut to go with them and you can likely use the oring from the element to seal them
The nuts from the elements may even be 30mm, it's worth trying them out

Thanks for the suggestion, think this will work.

I just remeasured the whole and threads, threads are 36.7mm and hole 39mm. The G1 would cover the hole (40mm), but not by much, but have a too smaller thread. The G1 1/2 would cover the hole, but the thread would be a little big- although i could probably use this nut for it. https://www.bunnings.com.au/zenith-m12-stainless-steel-304-hex-nut_p2430048.

Should i go for the G1/12?
