Hey all... I currently have my MLT insulated but my next brew I will have my hems running... Does the mlt Need to be insulated anymore now that the HERMS will be holding a steady temp??

You will use up more energy\take longer to reach & maintain mash temp if you do away with your MT insulation.
That said, there is always the bling factor to take into account if you buff & polish your brewery vessels. :D

In winter I wrap my MLT with a camping mattress held on by some rope and placed a folded towel on the lid.

But in summer I dont bother because Im brewing with the garage door open and want all the neighbours to see my shiny stainless glory. :D
