Agreed about the use of best possible equipment for all grain where you need efficient heating and smooth boiling etc. The original post was aimed more at extract and partial brewers - of which we have many on the forum - who need a stockpot for smaller boils and dissolving extracts and kits, rather than people doing ninety minute boils of thirty litres or more. I have a ten litre cheapo stockpot that I use now and again and it does the job.
