I can't believe people would pay that much honestly. I mean what's wrong with the plastic fermenters?
 
I agree with you. If it had temp control i'd be inclined to think it was good value. but $1500 bucks for shiny?
 
if i was stupidly rich i would probably spend that much on one.

Cylindro-conical fermenters would make fermenting easier, no need for racking, just drain the yeast from the bottom tap. the metal ones can hold pressure too so you can force in some CO2 when bottling and yeasting off to speed things up and stop oxygen comming in through the airlock.
 
I also read that fermenting under pressure you can get away with a higher temp (quicker ferment) without the gross tastes usually associated...I wonder how much pressure it can hold?
 
i think alot of them are made for relatively high pressure, up to 1 bar perhaps?
 
One of those shiny things wouyld look nice in my back room. A bit of bling bling, but functional as well. Oh, if only I had money to waste.....
