I say we drown him in hefeweizen.

now now Kai, you gotta keep your murderin' down to a minimum while you're away :)
you're not out in the hills with the weirdos no more

This is a heads up for Adelaide folk and visitors.

The Rob Roy on Wakefield street now has Belhaven on tap. All I know is that it is 3.6% and it isn't served under nitro. I am hoping to get there after work one night this week to try it out.

Wish I'd known that a week ago.

Let me know when you're heading to the Rob Roy and I'll drop in for a few pints.

since i now work relatively close by, I might drop in for a special guest appearance, and talk about maibocks and okky's :p

 ....after my effort in the SABSOSA I should bring some fresh from the keg to make up for the oxidised under carbed example presented. !!

OK, looks like we are all up for it. Let's set a night - Wednesday, Thursday or Friday around 5:30pm???

Cheers

And me.

Any of those nights are ok with me.

Thursday or Friday and I can make it. Wednesday I am on secret ANAWBS business B)

Popped in to the Rob Roy on my way home (well I walk past the place on the way to the tram :p )

It is Belhaven Best - which is creamflow and really more of a a take on an Irish Red Ale like Caffrey's rather than a full bodied Scottish 80/-. From memory, and without researching it further, it is brewed with a lager yeast. Honey coloured, smooth, little sweet on the palate. Creamflow givs it a fuller body, so I would not have picked the low alcohol level.

Also $9 an imperial pint - so despite the alcohol level probably not my idea of a session beer. Unless of course it was a short session.

They also have Alpha Pale Ale on tap, which was a little bit cheaper and pouring well.

Specialist malt whisky pub too, which gets the wee stu tick of approval - though no Auchentoshan or Bladnoch :(

A new pub to try? Why no I don't mind if I do! Friday after work sounds good...........

Loved the Glasgow Salad - hot chips, salt and vinegar

Now if it was Edinburgh, it would be much more sophisticated. Dressed in brown sauce that is ;)

awrabest, stu
