Carbon would be the ducks nuts! Would it be expensive ?
You wouldn't need to do the whole lot with carbon, just a cosmetic finish, maybe a plain weave to block out the colour then a nice twill to finish.Aussie suppliers can be pretty exxy ( what a surprise ) but it's only a small amount. I've used mainly carbon tow ( almost 200kg) in the boat which is pretty cheap when you buy 1000kg with a couple of other builders. Most of the rest I've bought from the States as it works out cheaper when getting bigger quantities, especially when the dollar was high.

it would cost alot more than the chop strand i plan on using plus i find that stuff bloody itchy that might be in my head but im scratching thinking about it. Personaly i dont like the carbon look but thats just me im more concerned with a good finish on the inside and will just flowcoat the outside for a tough and easy finish would most likely insulate to so wouldent see the carbon anyway. But a carbon one would go faster.
Ferments would be at least 20% faster in a carbon fermenter :D
Don't find the carbon as itchy as normal glass cloth, but it's deadly sharp and the spears snap really easy then are hard to get out and sting.
A jacketed design would be a good option, should be easier than SS ?
Maybe a thin inner layer of 2-3 uni directionals at 0/90/0 or a heavier triaxial ? Then wrap that up in some poly pipe, leaving a flange top and bottom for the outer skin to bond to. Bend a sheet of polyurethane insulation over the pipng then laminate the outside.
