Fat_Yak_clone.JPG

I'm going for the left.

what's the recipe you used?

The original Fat Yak is the left one, the right one is a clone recipe which actually taste a lot better, in my view, than the original. There original is a little too malty for my taste and the clone is lovely and fresh, vibrant and aromatic (hoppy). But then i would say that, I made it!

The clone is actually very clear and without haze, although the pic does not show that, must have been the angle or something.

Recipe:-

22ltrs

1.5 kg Coopers Liquid Malt Extract (light) x 2
250g Dried malt extract (light)
200g Light malt grain (3EBC)
100g Weyermann Carared (40EBC)
10g Cascade @ 30 mins
5g Nelson Sauvin @ 30 mins
10g Cascade @ 10 mins
5g Nelson Sauvin @ 10 mins
10g Cascade @ 5 mins
5g Nelson Sauvin @ 5 mins
US - 05 yeast

Steeped grain for 30 mins, boil was over 30 mins with approx 500g of LME, grain wort and DME.

Dry hopped with 22g of Cascade on day 4 - 5 of fermentation

OG was 1048 ish and FG was 1011 = ABV 5.1%

Lovely aromatic, fresh tasting beer, not much like Fat Yak but who cares, it's lovely all the same!

Do I win a 6 packof it?

Still looks like a bloody nice beer mate, love that head on it, tight, fluffy, definatly a lacer, yeah? Recipe?

Note lacing on glass, LH is clone, RH is original

He swaped the glasses round in the 2nd pic

I'm trying to download another picture, the glasses were the other way around. Having problems downloading the pics. Pennywise is correct, the link works but pic not visible.

Recipe above.

Do it like this and you shouldn't have any probs.

Edit: wow I just learnt how to display BBcodes without using the actual code :super:

Perhaps "Plump Yak", would more appropriate!
Lol.
That Yak's not fat, it's just big boned.

Tasty looking beer dude. Nice one :)
Like the switching glasses trick too. Guess we know who's been drinking now huh?
