yEah i used to brew bare ooted and one day one o the bricks i had my kettle sitting on cacked in hal. The kettle didnt all over but i did look at my eet and thought to mysel how much un it would be to dance in boiling sugary liquid. Ive had a 2 nad 3rd degree steam burn that stripped all the skin rom my cal muscle and it was not an enjoyable experience. I wear leather boots when brewing now.
Note: The key between D and G on my laptop keyboard just died. Ahhhhh uck it!!!
cheers

My false bottom arrived from beer belly yesterday
I installed it last night
It's a mean looking piece of equipment!
It sits flush the bottom of the esky - but it doesn't run parallel with the side of the esky (as my tap is not installed in the centre of side of the esky) - i don't think it'll affect pick-up though
My old manifold seemed to be losing siphon toward the end of draining - got a little annoying doing a dance with the mash tun on my shoulder getting the remaining wort out
After initial tests with plain water last night - it looks like this will not be a problem any longer
I'll report back after its maiden voyage - but it definitely looks the goods!
I am already getting 75-80% efficiency - so it'll be interesting to see if this improves - though I don't see how efficiency is affected when batch sparging
Also the tubing supplied with the falsie is pretty cool - who would have thought of putting a wire in the tube wall - it's brilliant!
Cheers
