Dropped lid seal into full keg

Hi I just checking keg level and seal dropped off. I don't really see a problem so I just used another seal and left it in. No chance of greeting it out. Anything I missed? Thanks

If you have a spare seal put it on. A better way to check the level is to hold the fridge door open or pull the keg out for a few minutes. Condensation will show you the level.

Thanks, I was filling from fermenter, closed transfer through beer line...I need to get a weight scale when filling... thanks

Also check that the seal isn't stuck to the top of the keg opening. Sometimes a bit of keg lube helps prevent the seal from sticking to the keg.

I saw it drop in I am thinking of getting a cat hanger and trying to get it, the only thing I think that can go wrong is the seal is pulled up to the tube when pulling beer, but hopefully it it gets compacted with a bit of sludge that you get in the bottom.

I have just started filling my kegs that way, previously I just used a racking tube through the hatch.

I don't think that the pick up tube will budge the seal. So long as the keg is airtight I would leave it in there

I have done that before, it was fine I just got the seal out when the keg was empty. I was worried it would block the dip tube but it was fine.

I usually use rope to hang cats. didn't know there was a special tool for the job!

YEp leave it in there as you have done. Seal should have been sanitary anyway so no harm done.

One thing to note but- if you are doing a closed transfer, taking the lid off to see whats happening completely defeats the purpose of doing an enclosed transfer in the first place as you let O2 straight in.

If you are transferring chilled beer then the condensation line should be enough to see the level of beer. If not then I guess the scales will be your answer.
