doubles up on caramalt

Argh!

I just realised that i doubled up on my caramalts. I meant to swap 250gm of caramalt with 250gm carapils, and i ended up chucking in both,

What do you think? should i put 2L of water and 200gm dextrose in to balance it out a bit?

Here is the recipe anyway:

That should read: Doubled up on caramalt.
Anyway, unless anyone has a better idea, I think ill go with the 200gm dextrose and 2L idea.
 
Why add dextrose...only make it sweeter...

Forget the water.

I think it will be ok...maybe a tad maltier but I dont think you would pick it.

Dont get the 75min boil with your hops..
 
It's still less than 10% crystal. Should be fine. Would look at possibly slightly upping the hops rather than adding dex to balance it if you are worried.

Yes that to. But only increase it a couple of IBU
 
Caramel is subtle crystal, mate and you have enough IBU to balance it. I think it will be great.

I must have it wrong, I was under the impression that adding sugar had the opposite effect after it all ferments out, thank you for correcting me!

I no chill so putting it in with 60 minutes to go, i understand would have the same effect as boiling is for 75 minutes. I leave beer-smith this way so i can run the calculations.
 
With the main malt being MO, I would leave it alone.

Alright, i'll leave it. I just thought that with 12% wheat and about 8-9% caramalt/crystal it might end up tasting far too sweet.
