In pictures I have seen it looks like some US brewers boil wort in old kegs with the top cut out. My local publican offered to give me 2. I only need one - Is there a market for them?

Have you looked at the members' gallery at all?

Hey David,

Yes they can be used BUT be aware that the publican does not own th kegs and he is stealing and giving away the breweries property. It doesnt matter how old the keg is, if the breweries name is stamped on the top its their property.

There are a couple of legal suppliers of 50L kegs on AHB and maybe they will jump in to help you out with one.

Cheers
Jye

Don't waste your time.

Tried using a really old keg, the arse burnt out of it, the rings fell down and the staves split open and I lost all my wort all over the gas burner and floor of the shed, the place smelled like burned caramel for months.
