Mate, where did you get your 100L drums? Congrats on the move to AG. I just did myself and im drinking the first pale ale and it's fantastic. Not sure if i was doing something wrong with the coopers cans but the beer i have just produced...Think ill poor the extract poison down the drain! Nothing against extract maybe i was just doing the simplest method possible and coming out with a satisfactory result but I must admit I do love all grain now.

Nothing wrong with your extract methodology, it's just that extract beer needs as much attention as all grain to make a good'un (hops, steeped grains, good yeast, etc), and all grain still craps all over good extract, so long as the brewer knows what they are doing with both sides of the equation.

It requires little extra equipment at the most simplest level, and costs far less than good K&K beer.

What's there not to like. Had an AHB member come over this week to buy something from me (K&K bloke) and ask "Would you ever go back to K&K?" to which I answered "Hell no". He then had a small glass of my beer and understood the reasons. And it was the most basic cheapest grains (BB), cheapest hops (and not a massive amount of them) and a cheap yeast fermented for a couple of weeks. Nothing for it to hide behind (unlike a 10m hop bomb), and still was a good beer.

The drums come from a guy in Greenbank/Bris - Andy is his name 0417191200.

His 5 for $35 deal for the 25 litre tanks is good. Looks like he also has 5 40 litre drums for $45 as well at the moment, didn't have those when I went there. The 100 litre drums are $35 - they are the same as these and they had vitamins in them - one use only, the powder is still in the bottom. Pretty much new condition for all of his stuff....

On the subject of K&K, I sold my old kegerator to a guy on Ebay a few weeks back. He bought his old man with him to check it out as he has brewed Muntons for years. He came in my garage, looked at my 3V rig and said 'why do you bother with that nonsense' and chuckled like I was a retard. After a few more comments I thought 'righto, enough of this crap' and escorted him to the bar for a glass of Ross's FWK's. Left my house with Craftbewer phone number, address and his jaw dragging along the ground. :beerbang:
