Coopers Euro Lager

Well the verdict is in, this kit has surpirsed me.

Euro Lager goo
500g LME
150g Carared (left overs)
250g Dex
15g approx of Saaz in a quick water boil for aroma
S-189 yeast

Fermented out in primary for 10 or so days @ 10C, then 2 weeks CC @ 2C. Bottled and left for 4 weeks.

First few bottles were drunk very cold, and it has that wonderful crisp lager smoothness. Nice malty body with subtle hop flavour and decent aroma. Head retention is poor... but it didn't last long enough to care! My best kit beer, and perfect for summer and keeping my mates smiling.

As for my toucan Lager... 4 weeks in the bottle and it's still undrinkable

That's good. I tried kegging a lager, but the egg perfume really put me off. It sure does need 'lagering", and a week or so in the keg doesn't do it. If I had more kegs I'd do a properly stored lager, but at the moment ales rule.

meh... looks like beer
taste more like a really weak cordial, but saying that i only
did a kit and kilo with a few additions... Hops etc

I didnt like it much...

(Both out of keg and bottle - been conditioned for approx 16 weeks)
