Hi Brewers, Recently kegged a Coopers Real ale, unracked but was left to ferment for 16 days. There was a sort of whie mold type stuff groth around the top of the fermenter at the time of kegging and afyter being in the keg for a week the beer is very cloudy and Woult be worth the effort to rack thios beer to another keg with some finings?????, or just chuck it out?? :huh:

Before you throw it...does it taste ok ?????????
I'd rack to a secondry with some finnings...could help...

As ferg said, does it taste OK, if so keep it and drink it.

You could try finings and even just ageing at temp to reduce the haze. Isinglass or gelatin will help clear out the beer.

Or filter if you have the facility.

The number one aspect is taste, you can put up with a cloudy beer if it tastes great.

Thanks for the quick replies chaps,

it did taste a bit rugged. Maybe pouring it through the tap into another keg with some finings (gelatin) may clean it up a bit???

Will the beer being cold afect the finings?
The brew was made as all the others before as far as cleanliness and ferment temp goes, but thought after 16 days it wouldn't turn out so cloudy.
This was the first Coopers real ale kit I have made and the recipe was much the same as the favoured Coopers Draught with the BE1 pack and some hops @5min boil.
