Oops did I say tits... I meant list.

And yes it was a shameless attempt to get your attention.

While your here could you look at the attached brew day checklist for me.

I am trying to create a simple step by step plan for my brew day. I know there are plenty of three out there but if I make it myself I will understand and be more familiar with the process.

Its for biab (with a mini sparge) I am keen to get the little things that are easily overlooked in there so I can check them off as I go.

At what points should I take and record gravity readings?

Any feed back welcome

Seems kinda OTT for BIAB checklist.

Mine goes like this.

Crush grain
fill pot with water and apply heat. ( i have etched my mixing spoon with a hacksaw at near enough strike water volume minus 3L).
When at strike temp, bag in and dough in.
insulate pot, stir at 15min and 45 min.
Lift bag and drain over pot.
apply heat to hit boil (check volume and decide if i need a top up or not).
Once boiling hops in a designated time, and whirlfloc at 10-15mins from end.
Kill heat after 60mins and get a whirlpool going.
10-15mins later siphon into cube and no chill.

Soak brew gear overnight and finsh up the next day pitching yeast etc.

I no chill so can't comment on the chill v no chill as i have only experience 1 side.

just a question, is this your first BIAB, or are you simply trying for a perfect execution of a batch everytime?
For me if i concentrate too much on small details i end up f*cking up somthing major, and make no better beer than having a relaxing brew day with near enough measurements.

I will state however that i do not enter competitions so precision is not paramount... yet.

Cheers,
D80

Not that it will change anything, but
"At end of mash raise temp on main urn for Diacetyl rest (75)"
Diacetyl is formed during fermentation. What you are doing is a mashout
Also in your prep, I would add sanitise chiller.
