in my interweb browsings lately i saw some Non return valves that had push fittings for the 8mm tube we all seem to use...

here's the thing. i know they were about 10 bucks each, a whole lot better than the 30 i've paid before...

i need to find these ones now and i didn't save a link... (blame the up at all hours of the night with a newborn web browsing)...

anyone seen them this cheap? (must be push fitting)

or alternatively, if everyone who reads this thread does a search on 3 websites they know....

hope you can help

look up water filter suppliers I've not seen them at $10 but I have seen them at about $14 - after I organised a bulk buy on some to get them down to about that price too :(

I needed 6 NR's for my setup as each keg is on a reg bank. Google John Guest non return valve - you'll find them at the US water part suppliers. I paid $7AUD/ea. and postage to AUS is negligible. You could do a USPS $9 puffed envelope, no worries.

I didn't even bother to check prices here. Guessing $30 each, probably more.

has anyone noticed a non-return valve making a noise when C02 is passing through it? just fitted mine, and it makes a little gurgling noise when gas is being passed through (as opposed to maintaining pressure).

I.e. if I pull the pressure relief ring-pull on my keg to dispel gas, the regulator sends more down the line (as it should) and the NR valve makes it's little noise. I have tried putting the NR valve on the other way, but gas doesn't get through, so I reckon I have it on right. Just the noise of the one-way valve?

It's the NR valve from Craftbrewer.

Mine sounds like a Whale moaning...

Dont stress it mate, the beer is pouring and your reg is safe.

It turns me on a little.. Mmm, whale porn :icon_drool2:

mine sound like a rattle snake ...

I can sense a whole new thread of 'what noises does your brew equipment make'

My old mash stirrer kept making noises like the moaning of a hungry child and would sound like it was crying out when I tried to increase it's stirring speed. Unfortunately the adoption agency took my mash stirrer back and refused to replace it when it stopped working as I had expected.
