hi guys,

i've been brewing for about 4 years now with kits/grain.

looking to move to biab.... is it cool to do half batches (10-12ltr)?

i'd prefer to make more small batches rather than drinking the same large batch for ages.

i'm already learning load from this site.

thanks for all your help so far.

I have been doing a half batch a week. Plenty of variety without having to drink excessive amounts of beer. I've recently brewed: Pale Ale, Porter, AIPA, Hef, Hef.

I basically followed Nick's guide and do anywhere from 10 to 14 litres into the fermenter.

Welcome Rusty. That link is a good introduction to all grain brewing, I read it myself yesterday Kev.

Just some beer for thought, how about going the no chill route to start and do single batches but split them into two 10L cubes and throw them on different yeasts and dry hop or cube hop differently. Same brew day two different beers.

I do small batches. Nothing difficult about it. Go for it.it.

Thanks heaps for the link! I'll be giving that a shot soon I reckon.

I'm a bit unsure why you would "cube" a beer instead of just bottling it from the fermenter?

Also I'm not clear about pitching rates of yeast? How do you know how much is to much or little to put in a batch of beer.

Thanks for the advice everyone
