Interesting, thanks for the insights. I’ll certainly try stirring the outside wort towards the end. Of course it’s difficult to assess how much is truly in the boil because most will probably sink instead of float! For this reason I’d always considered my Brau to be second rate on my larger mashtun. The clarity of wort out of my 4V is exceptional compared to the Brau, or at least I think it is
