Birko tap question

Birko tap nut is discoloured. Looks like chrome coming off? Are the tap nuts chrome plated copper/brass?

Yeah they seem to be. Mine lost its chrome colour too. Didn't seem to affect the brew too much

How did you get that off? I thought they were put on by a rattle gun.

Get a 3 piece ball valve.

It just came off with a shifter on the tap side, might have got a loose one. Ball valve is already in transit

If my inside nut was a testicle I would be very worried and probably go see a doctor!
I no chill so I am not really bothered about it because I drop my wort out at 90 degrees. h34r:
if I was chilling in the urn it would maybe be an issue but if you dump it when its hot it's pretty sterile which = safe.

It will be brass, I wouldn't be worrying about it.
