Are there any "rules" on here for sponsors?

I don't mind the sponsors expressing a point of view, and also pointing out differences between one product and another. If I was selling something and a cheap copy is made and sold with a similar name, while also copping bad reviews I would certainly have something to say.
It is a forum after all, members as well as sponsors should have there say, being denied a right to reply would get up my nose.

Yes its not great when people think all product is bad just because one company sells stuff that blows up but insists on being in the same league when it gets called out for the failures.

perhaps I should have started a poll... Who wants the aforementioned sponsors to "pull their head in"

I expect to be doing a good bit of deleting posts and maybe some threads tomorrow. I've moved threads started by Sponsors in the Sponsor forum where they belong, and made it where ONLY Sponsors can start a thread in Sponsor forum.

So, expect to be back in about 6 or 8 hours.

Well there you go. At least one mentioned has no interest in wasting your and other‘s time and as of next week there will be no further posts from Keg King. We have not posted BS and we do not care to be lumped in with those who do. Let those who did not wish to see us here or to hear the truth wallow as they see fit.

Its not a case of IF any more Grmblz. The members have voted and we accept that there is nothing more for us in this forum which is over run with those who wish us harm. In fact I am so glad that NoClue2Brew started this I have put aside a brand new Chubby Fermenter as a present to him for helping me get the message about what members want.

Here is some of what I wrote to to him:

It would be interesting to have a real discussion with you in person if you are willing but I will understand if you are not. Our idea of this forum is a place where people should be able to discuss things openly and in a civil manner. As a sponsor we wish to be accorded the opportunity to present our products and ideas as well as assist people who have questions about our products and what we do.

We do not wish to be here to be vilified and drawn into slanging matches that are often aimed at me directly and in a very personal way. It would be nice if members would voice concern about this but few care. Many adopt the idea that we should be tarred with the same brush no matter how well we behave. Someone even said they liked Sponsor Money to be wasted here. I have spoken with quite a few businesses who supply home brewers around Australia and most say that they wonder as to why we bother to waste our efforts on AHB. One told me directly that he does not want to be in “that gutter”. Not my words and I don’t want it to be seen that way. My efforts were directed to just be about business, offer good products, stay professional and support those who like what we do and make. But we don’t run when falsehoods and shit are thrown at us.

So as a result of your poll and what the admin advised I am giving serious consideration to a either a scale down of forum input or a complete withdrawal from it altogether. We are not going to hang around where we are not wanted. Many of the forum members who like and buy our gear have already made direct contact with us so what is left for us to gain by being a target for those who for their own reasons have an axe to grind? Not a lot.

Maybe I am missing something here but if members want us to lie down quietly whilst we cop flak generally for things we have not even done then I have no business being here. I know there are some who would prefer that another business should just have open slather here and we should not dare to call out untruths. If that suits the majority of the members maybe I should run a poll to see the feelings for this. So as I said the consideration of us withdrawing from sponsorship is definitely on the table because the attention we have to give here is time costly and those resources can be deployed elsewhere to better effect for our business. We are an Australian business which works hard to make great products and we are extremely proud to be earning export dollars for our state and our country. Whatever we sell internationally has all the earnings come back to benefit our local economy. It pays the livelihood of nearly thirty Australians and helps them keep their families fed, clothed and off the dole. The other business runs its international stuff straight out of China using our domain name www.kegking.cn so not much benefit to Australia. Sadly in many cases the Australian brewers through being customers have paid for the development of new gear but it’s a Chinese entity which reaps the benefits in China. All our development is done right here in Melbourne and all our growing international earnings come back to benefit this country. When brewers buy from us they are effectively investing in their own country. Our team is proud of that and strives to make gear that is good and safe. Team members are aghast that many brewers still do not understand how hard they work to make things safe only to have people buy lower quality stuff thinking its all the same. Our efforts to really drive that point home to consumers is what has our opposition in a total funk.

An old saying is to be careful what you wish for as you may get it. If the members want the forum without Keg King then we will be gone in a heartbeat. I know that will definitely please some that there be no counterbalance so that they can peddle whatever they like. It is my belief however that we did add value to the forum so I am interested to hear your thoughts and would prefer even more if we could have a phone call. Your timing was in some ways opportune as yesterday we completed our first run of the new 30 litre “Chubby” Fermenter King 30 litre which can double as a keg also. We had planned to celebrate this with a giveaway of 5 of them to forum members. After I saw the poll I obviously put a hold on this.

Me too, for pointing out false advertising. If there is one thing I can't abide is bullies but one thing really sticks in my craw is bullying women. Nothing was said when Keg Land first came onto this forum and was calling Maggie out when she had no right of reply, who was the culprit? My money would be on Kee, someone who Maggie helped to get a mortgage which he couldn't get being a director.
I have said it before, I was on the fence when Keg Land started, didn't take long to decide whose ring my hat was going in.
Probably make admin madder than a wet hen, but I would much sooner see sensible discussion in open threads between the two parties about product, without it turning into a slanging match, not too much to ask me thinks.

put kk and kl into parliament and they can run the country. they've got the whole thing down pat.
bouncing each other over snub noses is at least more interesting than bouncing over adjusted quarterlies. just think, a ss60L for everybody on under 130k.
puts a different perspective on opening a session. would the right honourable for wentworth stop urinating in the corner? i think the shouts have it. session will resume when the members sober up. actually, doesn't sound much different to what we get anyway.

Well I noticed the poll but didn't bother looking at the results or voting, I consider it informative rather than entertaining, and as I mentioned if you are "over" someone defending themselves and calling BS when nothing but propaganda is espoused as fact then I would have to question your motives.
I've just checked, 14 are "over it" and 4 not, that's hardly a thunderous response.
Obviously I have no way of knowing the numbers but it wouldn't surprise me if for every one that posts there's another ten or more watching, so 14 whingers pales into insignificance, and keep in mind I wonder how many of those 14 "over it" have connections to KL, it would certainly suit them to have free rein to spruik their rubbish here, given they have banned any serious dissenters from their thread.
My vote is stay on and "keep the bastards honest" well as much as anyone can keep people like that honest.

I suggest not reading too much into the results of the poll. The question is loaded, on the premise that you and KL are just sniping at each other and offer no helpful information. The options are limited to "it's entertaining" or "it's tiresome". It won't get a response from anyone who thinks your posts are helpful, informative, or contributing to a likelihood of buying your products. It also won't get a response from somebody who searches in a month from now for "which PET fermenter should I buy?"
By all means walk away if you've had enough of this forum, but if you want to base it on the results of a poll, at least let it be one that asks a question like, "does KK's posting make you more or less likely to buy their products?" And consider posts from people who'd consider buying from you in the first place.

The poll was not the decisive item but rather a trigger for action that I have been contemplating recently in view of the constant trolling that can only emanate from one source. Thought to name them but I think most people are well aware of the claque and its origin.

It forced me to come to a decision and I was so grateful to NoClue2Brew that he is getting a brand new FK Chubby 30 litre fermenter from us free of charge for his service.

Overnight we received direct contact from quite a few members and also the admin which are making me take some time out to rethink. Let’s see how that goes.

Really appreciate those who took the time out for this.
