Hi fellow brewers
Today I put this down
I ran it through the Ianh spreedsheet and all can up good s0o I went ahead with it
kgs of amber lme
1Kg of light dme
Seeped 200grms crystal 200grms carapil for 20mins
60grms of hersbrucker hop pellets 60min boil
30grm hersbrucker for 30mins
20grm hersbrucker for 15mins
10grms of hersbrucker flame outIbu came out on the spreedheet at33.4 EBC at 24.99
OG 1049
But after putting it all together could only come up with OG of 1040
so what have I done wrong
Any help to more full understand Why would be great

Temperature affects hydrometer readings but 22 shouldn't be too different to 20.

You may have buggered up your entry into the spreadsheet, the spreadsheet may have calculated incorrectly, you may be reading your hydrometer incorrectly or your ingredients may not have been thoroughly mixed.

It won't be too big a deal though - 1040 is the level of an average kk brew. Otherwise you could add in some more dried malt extract and/or dextrose. No harm in doing so - just boil it up first and let it cool. I'd go between 50:50 and 70:30 malt:dex.
 
If I leave as is what is it likely to finish at am using a us05 yeast and keeping the temputure at arond 18/20c
