Has anyone got a good recipie for a nice amber ale for a newbie brewer?

Maybe with a kit or 2 and some simple hop additions and what sort of yeast?

Doesnt have to be a clone but I like James Squire amber ale :D

This one might be the ticket mate: http://store.coopers.com.au/recipes/index/view/id/97/ ferment it at 18-19ish C if possible. I'd use US05, BRY-97 or if you are into liquid yeast WLP001/WY1056.

A good whack of crystal malts (sometimes plus munich) is what gives an amber ale its caramel notes. You could do this with a tin of amber malt extract plus a basic pale ale kit (+ pale malt extract to get to your desired starting gravity). You could also steep 200g odd of crystal malt too if you want some more caramel flavor.

According to the MSB website, Willamette is the aroma/flavor hop in JSAA. Using some of that in a small 10ish minute boil or steep (or even dry) might help get your Amber Ale to be JSAA inspired.

Hello Ruger,

Had this one come out of the FV about 2 weeks ago, http://store.coopers.com.au/recipes/index/view/id/97/ obviously not as hoppy as the other recipes posted above, but couldnt help myself and had to have a taste after a week. Very malty flavour at first and then a big hit of bitterness.

Going to condition for about 4 weeks so hoping the flavours will soften a little and should be a great drop.
