After a bit of advice... I'm brand new to kegging and on Friday I was expecting my reg to turn up so I put my stout in the keg and waited...and waited...and waited and still no reg. So a now have one of the small CO2 chargers for party kegs. Can i put some CO2 into the keg via the beer out post and push any remaining air out the lid and keep it fresh ish untill my reg turns up so I can force carb it? It has been sitting at 4 deg C since Friday.

Cheers

that should work just fine, but you might need to use a bit extra to give it a bit of extra pressure to make sure the lid seals well

Indeed I would use one canister to purge and another to seal.

You can purge the keg via the normal In post too. Just use the pressure valve or push the lid in a few times with the gas on.
