Hi All,

This maybe a long shot.

I am wondering if anyone can help with refilling a (or swapping for a full) bottle of acetylene for my oxy welder.
I have inquired at several places who say that they can only help if i have an account, which they will then charge for bottle hire.

It has an air liquide sticker if that helps.

Obviously happy to pay for the refill and something for anyone that can help.

Cheers,

JT

PS - Im about an hour and a bit North of Adelaide - happy to travel.

Edit: My Location

The easiest way out is to go to Air Liquide and hire another acetylene cylinder on a monthly account. After a week or two return your empty one and presto. You have a full cylinder and only have to pay a months rent.

Hope this helps.

sounds like it would work.

im not sure but i know some retailers prevent this by tagging each sale item with a unique code, so that you can't do the old switcharoo - check if the old bottle and new bottle have codes on them somewhere?

Good thinking Paul, Thanks.

As far as i know, BOC have barcoded each of their bottles, so they can scan them as then come in or go out.
