Hypothetically, if a friend of mine decided at the last minute to add some ginger (I think he said it was about a thumb-sized piece) to his priming solution to give a bit of a kick to his IPA, should my mate be worried about the ginger fermenting and causing overcarbonation, or is my mate just...
Taking a few (well deserved) hours off study this week to drop into the Pig and Whistle on Eagle Street for the Coopers Club Night.
I know I brought this up in another thread, but that degenerated kind of quickly...
So, anybody here going?
1) I feel like a Coopers.
2) The new Coopers site is great, check it out.
3) Just got an invite to the Coopers Club meeting on November 8th in Brisbane - very keen!! Who is going to this so we can possibly catch up?
4) Coopers are releasing two new beers, I hear. They only have their ales...

If all goes to plan, should be walking up Mt Warning on Sunday, purely for shits and giggles. Anybody done it, anything I should look out for, any thoughts? This will be a day hike, unfortunately not starting at 3am (I don't think so anyway...).
My brother sent me a link about a week ago, to an Aussie with a website dedicated to a few things, including a few exe files... one of them was called Watersmith or something... looked useful but forgot to write it down.
It allowed you to input your water profile (ion concentrations) and you...
How easy is it to do this?
Can I easily buy a three-way connector, should I use two t-pieces?
I notice check/one-way valves on a few, are these really needed if your connector lock valves are working properly?
Alright, since I've been slapped in the face a few times by the style nazis, after I brew my Pacific IPA I'll be doing a 'genuine' English/Burton-STYLE IPA, for my own curiosity's sake. I may be way off with this, but I still like being different... however I would still like this to remain to...
I was going to use all Centennial, but stilly me, can't find it anywhere in Australia (easily anyway). I'm considering going to Perle instead, or something else... or should I give up and use two hops?
Grain bill is 96% pale ale malt, 4% 130L/350EBC cara-aroma.

This looks interesting... I think I'll use this as my specialty malt in my IPA (probably 4-5%).
Has anybody used it?
